ApplicationReverse circulation drill rods, also known as double-wall drill rods, is a type of drilling tool used for reverse circulation drilling. It is composed of inner and outer layers of drill rods (called inner pipe and outer rods). An annular gap is formed between the inner and outer tubes. During drilling, the circulating medium flows from the annular gap of the double-walled drill to the bottom of the hole.
The center hole of the inner tube discharges the circulating medium. And carry the core sample back to the surface. The outer tubes of each double-walled drill pipe are connected with threads to ensure the transmission of torque and pressure. The inner tubes are mostly connected by plugging, which generally functions to circulate the circulating medium, and the plugging joints are equipped with sealing devices. Reverse circulation drilling can effectively prevent well wall collapse and improve drilling efficiency.
